Default What title will you respect the most and why?

After what I saw with Cavalon this weekend, anyone with one of the titles for contributing faction to their guild will have my utmost respect and will always be welcome in any PUG I am ever in.

What do you look for in PUGs ? Team players. And that is exactly what the titles in the "Friend of the Luxon/Kurzick" lines are about. The lowest title in this line requires 250k donated to their guild, which could have been worth about 500k in jade or amber. Very selfless people and always welcome.

Also, some of the other titles have various ways of earning them without much skill, such as survivor, drunkard, etc. I've seen pictures of survivors with like 16 minutes game played. It's obviously a "work around" attained by a group helping them get the title. While quite an achievement, and probably something to be proud of, it doesn't show a player's ability, character, etc. which are what I look for in the players I respect the most.

How about your thoughts ?

Well... Canthan/Tyrian Protector is nice to have, it doesn't show that much skill but it takes some time and shows a decent amount of experience. I agree about the "Friend Of" line because it shows some dedication to a group, though the entire group can be a bit selfish at times.

I respect the selflessness associated with the "Friend of" line as well. To all of the people who spend so much of their time farming faction for their respective alliances: /hats off. (I am in TC and very proud of that, but I respect all who contribute so much to their guilds, alliances, or causes.

I wish there was a "Ferry Boat Captain" title so I could have that.

Thanks for all the kind words from those of you in Cavalon and the Deep this weekend.

I'd have to agree; anyone willing to put up with the random boss spawns and associated insanity to getting the elites in tyria deserves respect.

Well, that 'Champion' title for top guilds is the most prestigious one I guess. Emporer's Hero is nothing to be sniffed at either.

Tyrian Cartographer I think it's called. They dedicated their time into exploring every nook and cranny of GW and are skilled enough to get through the areas dealing with the tons of annoying monsters.

I would disagree with that. Cartographer only means that they have spent hours dragging henches around filling in every spec they missed the first time through. I know this because I have that title, and that is how I did it.

Not saying that it's necessarily a bad title, just that it doesn't tell you anything about how they work in a team - because most of the time they weren't in a team.

Grandmaster cartographer is like a million times harder to get than simply settle for 90%. You'd have to do all the missions and bonusses and even all the spots nobody cares about to unlock everything also inside the missions, so it rates higher than protector of tyria for me to have that one.

Anyone with the Champion title can color me impressed, but when it comes to PvE I'd say Elite Skill hunter.

I would say an honestly earned and maxed survivor title would get my respect , but as the OP said there are workarounds for those unfortunately. Friend of .... certainly impresses me too. Skill Hunter dunno most of the elites can be capped with henchies doesn't really tell me if team player or not.
Drunkard definately tells me that guy/gal played for the fun of it
The PvP titles : i'd say the gladiator title or whichever it is that drags you into random arenas certainly impresses me most as i couldn't stand 5 minutes in RA tbh

I have to say "Kinda Big Deal" is my most respected, especially if the 5 maxed out were like:

Friend of Luxon/Kurzick
Champion
Emperor's Hero
Tyrian/Canthan Cartographer
Elite Skill Hunter

That would be one sick crazy GW person!

The protector titles show abilty to team work. which is good, if your using titles to pick people in your pug. which I think is a bad idea. the one I will most respect is Grandmaster Cartographer

I'd be especially impressed with a maxed Skill Hunter title, considering that nobody has found where Assassin's Promise can be capped yet. Aside from that, Champion would get my respect more than anything else.
